690 Hours Massage Therapy Program


Massage Licensed and Teaching Certification


Thai-Issan Massage Academy curriculums has been approved by the State of Hawaii Department of Education and the State of Hawaii Professional and Vocational Licensing Division, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Board of Massage Therapy since 2015. Our staff are professional licensed massage instructors and certified to teach massage therapy with many years of experiences and expertise.


We offer a 690 hours Massage Therapy program that consists of: (50 hours) Anatomy, Physiology, and Structural Kinesiology. (100 hours) Theory and demonstration (420 hours) Practical Training and (120 hours) Modalities training. Our program includes hands on training in Swedish massage, Western Sport and Medical massage, Eastern Chinese (Acupressure) and Japanese (Shiatsu), Hawaiian (Lomi Lomi), Foot Reflexology, Chair Massage and we specialized in Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, Deep Tissue, and Hot stone Massage. (Optional Advanced classes are available for CE credit.)

Through our successful program after completion with certification, you are able to take the State of Hawaii exam for (MBLEX) and become a license massage therapist.

Daytime & Evening Classes are available for student enrollment and base on instructors availability (Monday to Friday) 9:00 am - 1:00pm / 5:00 pm -9:00 pm

Student Textbook included: $150

150 hours Course Admission: $3000

(Apprenticeship Program available for those that qualify after completing 150 hours)

120 hours Modalities Classes included with full tuition paid for 690 hours Massage Therapy Program $2238.50

Advance Classes are available (Optional for 20 hours CE credits)

  • Advance Traditional Thai Massage II: $500
  • Fire Cupping (will be included with supplies): $500


    All other Advance classes are available: $450 each

  • Professional clinic attire, massage supplies for personal use
    • CPR Class Training ($60) 
    • Students are not required to purchase massage table, but for those who would like to do so estimated cost for equipment is approximately ($500)
    • Registration of DCCA applications fee for Exam ($50) 
    • Prometric Test Site Fee ($90) optional ($60)additional for Walk-in Appointment 
    • Student starter kit ($25 )can be purchased (Include massage oil, spray bottle, and carry case, foot massage stick fromThai-Issan Massage Academy) (optional)


REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMITTANCE

  • 18 years of age 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Physically able to perform massage 
  • Finance for your education
  • Personal Interview



YOU WILL LEARN

Anatomy, Physiology, and Structural Kinesiology, Theory and Demonstration of Massage which includes: The proper procedure in massaging; concerning the protection of both the client and massage therapist for the specific condition; contraindications of massage; record keeping; hygiene; theory; techniques according to conditions; draping; and assessment of the client’s condition and general technique to be applied. Swedish massage, including trigger points, lymphatic drainage, prenatal massage, deep tissue, muscle energy technique, range of motion and stretching. Seated Chair massages, Medical Massage, Sport massage, pre-event, post-event, rehabilitation and injury prevention, Acupressure, Five element Chinese Medicine and meridians, Energy techniques such as chakra balancing, how to use healing touch, and breath work. Traditional Thai Massage, Traditional Lomi Lomi, Hawaiian values, and business practice; office procedures, record keeping, and marketing

The hours for the general course are basic requirements for the State of Hawaii Professional and Vocational Licensing Division for Massage Therapy. Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs for the Board of Massage.
